“Kat Cameron loves to draw, in fact she would be perfectly happy living on pencils and pens and floating on oceans of ink in her paper boat.“
Kat specialises in fantastical, custom tailored, concept driven illustration and graphic design. She uses acrylic paint, pencil, pen, mixed media collage, and various digital mediums to produce her illustrations. She grew up in South Africa, where she studied fine art with honors at The University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg South Africa.
Since then, her travels have taken her to Japan, South East Asia and now Spain. She has collaborated on many art and illustrative projects, and has participated in numerous exhibitions in South Africa, U.S.A, Japan, Mozambique, The Netherlands and Spain. She cofounded the MissYucki project which developed her love of drawing and painting, as well as telling stories through art.
These days her 5 year old keeps her on her toes, and in between bed time stories and adventures she has been working on various illustrated books, projects and commissions. Currently Kat is developing some of her own Children’s books.
Her work has been published in a variety of art and illustration books, as well as children’s books. In 2017 she created the Illustrated Guide Book to Barcelona with Monsa Publishing.
